Couple of months ago, a die-cast scale model company leaked the design of the flagship Volvo S90 sedan. Now it looks like the same company has leaked the design of the upcoming Volvo V90 flagship wagon.
Like the S90 sedan, the V90 features a similar upright grille and Volvo’s now signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight accents. The major difference between the two models is after the c-pillar, where the wagon easily trumps the sedan’s rear end design. The liftgate slopes at a sharp, yet pleasing angle, giving the V90 a sleek shooting brake profile. The taillights look like those found on the 2014 Volvo two-door concept estate, and do a good job of surrounding the liftgate.
The Volvo V90 is expected to offer the same engine choices as the S90 sedan and the XC90 SUV, which includes a turbo and supercharged 2.0 L I-4 motor rated at 315 horsepower. A more powerful T8 variant combines the same I-4 engine with an electric motor, which increases the power output to 395 horsepower.
The interior of the flagship V90 wagon will be heavily influenced by the XC90’s cabin design.
So far, the Volvo V90 looks really attractive as a die-cast scale model, but I will give my official seal of approval on its exterior and interior design after I see it in person.
