For 2015, the Chevrolet Silverado heavy-duty series receives the same exterior and interior enhancements of regular 1500 “light duty” Silverado.

This means that the heavy-duty models gain the tall, squared grille with the chrome bar that separates the headlights. Unlike the previous generation model, the wheel wells of the new Silverado is more squared, thus giving it a more muscular look. Overall, the exterior of the Silverado is more dynamic and intimidating than before, which is a good thing, if you want to stand out in the tough pick-up truck segment in the U.S.

However, the enhancements/upgrades do not stop at the exterior, the interior of the new Silverado HD also receives a complete makeover. When one enters the cabin, they will immediately feel the premium vibe the interior emits. The cabin materials feel softer, the leather is more supple, and the overall build quality of the interior makes one feel like they are in a luxury vehicle than in a pick-up truck.

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD comes with the choice of two engines, one, a naturally aspirated gasoline engine, and the other, a turbo-diesel unit.

The gasoline engine is a pushrod 16-valve 6.0 L V8 engine, which produces 360 horsepower and 380 lb.ft. torque. This engine is backed by a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission.

The optional diesel engine is a turbocharged and intercooled pushrod 32-valve 6.6 L V8, which produces 397 horsepower and an earth moving 765 lb.ft. torque. The diesel unit is backed by an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. This package costs an additional $8,585 over the standard gasoline powered truck.
